Gulls Pest Control

Gulls Pest Control

In urban areas there are three species which come in to conflict with humans. These are the Great Black Backed Gull (Larus marinus), Lesser Black Backed Gull (Larus fuscus) and the Herring Gull (Larus argentatus). Locally the most common pests are the Lesser Black Back and the Herring Gull.

The main problems with urban gulls are the noise early morning, their aggressiveness they have once they have young and the damage they cause to property either directly by pecking or indirectly by blocking guttering. There are several ways to control these birds and this can be by physically preventing them from breeding (nest emoval or egg oiling) or by proofing to stop them being able to access the building.

We have successfully installed large roof nets to keep gulls off roofs.

We can also use "Avishock" to deter gulls from your roof. This new system uses a small electric shock to scare the birds away.
